Get Ready to Host
With Airhosted

A step-by-step guide to get
your accommodation ready for hosting.

Get Ready to Host
With Airhosted

How to Start Hosting

Take photos of your home

For short-term rentals, captivating photos are essential. They’re your best tool for attracting guests – poor photos can lead to fewer bookings or lower rates.

Consider hiring a professional photographer; it’s an upfront cost that often pays off with more bookings. We already work with skilled photographers offering competitive rates, so please feel free contact us for recommendations.

Alternatively, if you prefer to do it yourself, please follow our guidelines for capturing clean, well-lit images. Click here for helpful tips on making your photos stand out.

Prepare two sets
of labeled keys

Two sets of keys simplify the hosting experience for everyone. Guests benefit from great hospitality and the ability to check-in by themselves, while our cleaning teams keep your accommodation fresh and operational tasks running smoothly

To maximize the chance of retrieving your keys if lost, please tag them with the following:

“If you find this key, please contact host@airhosted.ch to receive a
50.– finder’s fee!”

Install Two Lockboxes

To ensure that your guests can check-in at all desired times, we use lockboxes to store the aforementioned keys.

These are easily installed and have proven to be safe and convenient. The first lockbox contains the guest’s keys while the second one contains a key to be used by cleaning teams and in case of emergencies.

Here are some suggestions for lockbox models:

Master Lock Select Access 5403EURD (without a handle, for mailbox or wall mount) Master Lock Schlüsselsafe 5400EURD
(with a handle, for railings or chains)

Stock Enough Kitchen Utensils
& Empty Your Refrigerator

Guests who chose to rent a home instead of a hotel are usually looking for an “at home” experience. Make sure your kitchen is equipped with all of the necessities for cooking and eating based on the number of guests you plan to host. We also suggest keeping few additional sets of items in case of damage.

All personal items, such as food & alcohol should be stored away during your absence. Everything you want the guests to use (such as condiments and other foods with a long shelf-life) can be left in place.

Basic cooking ingredients such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, spices etc. should be kept in the kitchen for the guests to use freely.

Mount Appliance
Adapters

In case your property has appliances or other electronics which don’t use Swiss plugs (three pins in a triangle pattern), we recommend installing permanent adapters instead of using normal travel adapters.

Permanent adapters are safer than the travel variety and are designed for continuous use. They also prevent guests from mistakingly taking them with them upon their departure.

We recommend using an adapter with similar features to this model.

Craft a Comprehensive Description of Your Home

Your detailed property description is essential for effective advertising on booking platforms.

You know your home best, so please take a moment to describe each room thoroughly, highlighting both your home’s strengths as well as areas you may find less appealing.

This open approach helps us craft a listing which presents your property in the best light, gives the guests a great experience and achieves the occupancy and price targets.

Book the First Cleaning

A good cleaning is a necessary last step before you start hosting – it will help your accommodation stand out to future guests and garner positive reviews.

Any personal belongings you wish to be kept out of sight can be stored in a locked cabinet or a stowed in the cellar.

Don’t worry about the linens or towels, our cleaning team will supply everything during their first visit (unless discussed otherwise).
